2nd Hand Shop Coordinator
Now Hiring: Full Time Shop Coordinator
About the Role
We are looking for a Shop Coordinator to help lead the day-to-day functioning of Evergreen’s 2nd Hand Shop + Community Hub. This is not just a retail role. The shop is part second-hand store, part community hub, and part meaningful space for seniors, caregivers, and people of all abilities to connect, participate, and feel part of something. The Coordinator helps keep the space organized, welcoming, creative, and running smoothly while also helping bring Evergreen’s vision for the shop to life.
Who This Role Would Suit
This role would be a good fit for someone who enjoys creativity, people, conversation, community, and making spaces feel good. Someone who likes organizing, cleaning, displays, practical tasks, and bringing order to busy environments. It would suit someone who can move between people, projects, and practical tasks with ease — and who enjoys work that has both variety and purpose.
What the Role Includes
The Shop Coordinator works as part of a team with many shared hats. Shared responsibilities include helping with social media, displays, running the till, sorting donations, pricing and merchandising items, planning workshops, and helping keep the space clean, warm, and welcoming.
The Coordinator also helps facilitate ideas and execute Evergreen’s vision for the space. This includes onboarding Working Members, supporting grant writing, helping plan workshops and community offerings, and helping ensure the shop operates in line with Evergreen’s policies, procedures, and expectations.
This person should be comfortable using computers and basic technology and ideally have some confidence — or willingness to grow — in areas like photography, social media, and simple promotional content.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organized, practical, creative, self-directed, and comfortable working around seniors, caregivers, and people of all abilities. A calm presence, common sense, flexibility, and a willingness to help wherever needed will go a long way in this role.
Experience in retail, second-hand environments, customer service, seniors services, community support, displays, recreation, event coordination, or social enterprise would all be an asset.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares Evergreen’s values of community, reliability, thoughtfulness, creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and patience.
Position Details
This is a full-time position, generally 4–5 days per week, including some weekends, holidays, and flexibility depending on the needs of the space.
Wage:$24.000–$26.00/hour, depending on experience and fit.
