Choice. Dignity. Compassion.

Quality Long-term Care Services

Evergreen is a private locally-owned care facility in Campbell River, B.C., offering 64 rooms that accommodate individuals and couples with complex care needs.

Our commitment, and expertise, is in providing person and family-centered care with the goal of improving, and maintaining, quality of life.

Dignity.

Long-term Care

Evergreen offers publicly and privately funded long-term care. People that meet long-term criteria require around-the-clock care for physical, functional or cognitive care needs.

Transitional Care

Evergreen provides privately funded transitional care. People admitted will have a planned discharge date and location, and planning for discharge starts on admission.

Respite Care

Respite provides temporary relief to the care giver while the person admitted receives quality care. This care is available as a privately funded option and includes as short as an over night stay to a maximum 6-week stay.

Hospice Palliative Care

Evergreen, in partnership with the Hospice Society, provide privately funded person- and family-centered Hospice Palliative Care through end-of-life and bereavement.

Compassion.

Vision

Residents and families are listened to, informed, respected, and involved. The team has time to provide continuity of compassionate, individualized care.

Mission

In the book, Being Mortal, by Atul Gawande, he tells us that, ‘the very old do not fear death, but rather what happens before death’. He talks about, “continuous series of losses” and, “ the state of dependence”.

Understanding these concepts is what fuels the passion, mission and vision at Evergreen. We are genuinely devoted to providing dignity, autonomy, privacy, and respect – with the support of flexible, individualized care. Our facility and services are designed to support residents with the ability to do things they still value. Our team will adjust as your physical, functional, cognitive or mental health change.

When the reality of life occurs and independence becomes limited, we strive to provide the best day possible. We believe all residents have the right to high-quality, person centered care that seeks to preserve/ facilitate independence and choice at every opportunity and in every state of ability.

Compassion is the ability to be with suffering, along with the desire to transform it.

Our Values

  • Sense of Security - to feel safe and free from threat, harm, pain and discomfort.

  • Sense of Continuity - seamless, consistent care delivered within an established relationship by known people.

  • Sense of Significance - to feel recognized and valued as a person of worth; that one’s actions and existence are of importance; that you “matter”.
